Business Fraud Claims Against Mortgage Company Rejected by Judge

Court: Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento

A real estate investor sued a mortgage banker and its chief executive officer for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty. The plaintiff, who was seeking $500,000 in damages, brushed off the defendant’s $20,000 settlement offer and chose to go to trial. At the end of a 12-day bench trial, the judge ruled in favor of the defendants on all counts and awarded defendants their costs.
